PALESTINE, THE WHOLE STORY IN 3 MINUTES.

It is undisputed that at the escalation of violence and political world are failing jurists, political and ideological systems are exhausted and must enter into a period of deep reflection and analysis for review, not just listen to the news coming from the Middle East, review the conflict but where we find that the central part seems to be: the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories; The creation of the State of Israel and the control of water in the region; the Jewish settlements on Arab land compromise the possibility of a future Palestinian state and the future of Jerusalem, for its historical and religious significance is a key piece for a peaceful coexistence in our day and in the future.

Arabs and occupied their present territory that was Palestine after centuries before Moses freed his people from bondage in Egypt in 1270 BC, David, King of Israel, defeated the Philistines in 1000. Later they were assimilated like the Canaanites. The unity of Israel and the weakness of adjacent empires enabled David to establish a large independent kingdom, whose capital was Jerusalem. Under his son and successor, Solomon. Israel enjoyed peace and prosperity, but he died in the year 922 BC the kingdom was divided into two: Israel in the north; Judah, south. Israel fell to Assyria divided in the years 722 BC and Judah was conquered in 586 BC by Babylonia, which destroyed Jerusalem and exiled most of the Jews who lived there.

When Alexander the Great of Macedonia conquered the region in 333 BC Followed the Ptolemies of Egypt and the Seleucids of Syria continued to rule the area. until Pompey the Great conquered Palestine for Rome and became a province ruled by Jewish leaders. During the reign of King Herod the Great in the year 37-4, AC Jesus Christ was born. In the years 66 AD until 73 broke two Jewish revolts against Roman rule, but were repressed. For the second, the destruction of Jerusalem and the harsh repression of the Jewish diaspora led to other territories. Then Judea was renamed Palestine.

The intensification of anti-Semitism was a .. From 1880, encouraged European Jews to seek refuge in their "promised land", Palestine. Theodor Herzl, author of The Jewish State in 1896, founded the World Zionist Organization to solve the "Jewish problem" in Europe. As a result, Jewish immigration to Palestine increased dramatically. For those years, the Palestinian Arabs constituted about 95% of a total population of 450,000.
The promise that the British did to the Arab leaders, in the years 1915-1916 to grant independence to their territories after the war, expelled the Turks, the British, however, did not meet.

The secret Sykes-Picot treaty with France and Russia in 1916, Britain agreed to divide and rule the region with its allies. Subsequently, by the Balfour Declaration in 1917, Britain assured the Jews (whose financial support needed to sustain the war effort) a "national home" in Palestine Jew. This promise was incorporated after the mandate given to Britain by the League of Nations in 1922.

In 1939, the British government issued a new "White Paper" restricting Jewish immigration and offering independence for Palestine within 10 years. This was rejected by the Zionists, who then organized terrorist groups bloody against the British and the Palestinians. The goal: to expel them out of Palestine and pave the way for the establishment of the Zionist state. Emigration increased sharply after the arrival of Nazi Germany; in 1935 nearly 62,000 Jews entered Palestine. Fear of Jewish domination was the main cause of the Arab revolt erupted in 1936 and continued intermittently until 1939.

The struggle for Palestine, was resumed in 1945, the so-called holocaust world sympathy aroused by the Jews, European Zionists and even though Britain refused to admit 100,000 surviving Jews in Palestine, they managed to enter illegally. Finally, the British transferred the problem to the United Nations in April 1947. During that year, the United Nations approved the partition under which the Palestinian Arabs, accounting for 70% of the population and owned 92% of the land, were reduced to 43% of the country. This is stated in UN Resolution 181. The State of Israel was established on May 14, 1948.

After five decades of violence continue with small breaks, but it's time that Resolution 181 of the United Nations dictates when you lose a great opportunity to resolve this conflict. The great failure of international policy remains in force, because it is in the Middle East which could ignite the fuse that = sinister globe. The very fact that the great powers have veto power in the Security Council of the UN, is also strong evidence of the failure of international law, because it means that all the arrangements made by that body, always ready to favor the rich and the economic potential of the countries that form part of Israel for decades. Nearly 181 resolution commercial matters is because paves Israel's right to buy as a sovereign state to the global community of nations.

In 1993, the leaders of each side agreed to sign a historic peace agreement. Yasir Arafat, leader of the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine, and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin met in the United States on September 13, to sign the peace agreement in the region. The plan called for the autonomy of the territories occupied by Israel, to be launched in the Gaza Strip and Jericho territories. The Palestinian administration of these areas began in May 1994.

Today all seems lost in the Gaza Strip under the rubble, there is no way to think of a meeting between the leaders of the Zionist state of Israel and the Palestinians to attempt a ceasefire. There is the origin of violence that have ravaged Gaza and the West Bank in recent days, with the balance of bloody hundreds dead, most of them children and young Palestinians.
